Faith Forges the Soul, Safety Builds the Defense — Wuhan Zhaoyang Chamber of Commerce and Xingyi Technology Group Jointly Host a Grand Lecture Series

Release time:2025-06-28

On the morning of June 29, 2025, the grand lecture hall jointly hosted by the Wuhan Zhaoyang Chamber of Commerce and Xingyi Technology Group was held with great enthusiasm at Xingyi. Wang Jinbin, Chairman of Xingyi Technology Group and President of the Wuhan Zhaoyang Chamber of Commerce, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Over 200 people attended, including heads of several member companies from the Wuhan Zhaoyang Chamber of Commerce, as well as executives and marketing managers from Xingyi Technology Group.

Decoding the cultural code of our time

The grand lecture hall first featured Zhang Xiufu, former Second-Level Inspector at the Publicity Department of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, who delivered a talk titled "Noble Beliefs and Our Personal Growth." He delved deeply into profound questions—such as "What is faith? Why do we believe? And on what does our faith ultimately rest?"—integrating philosophical reflection with real-world examples. Together with the audience, he unlocked the timeless code of faith for today's era.

When discussing what faith truly means, Zhang Xiufu pointed out that faith serves as a guiding compass for continually moving forward in life—it embodies the convergence and holistic expression of one’s worldview, outlook on life, and values, all aligned with personal aspirations and the broader vision for societal development. He emphasized that the journey of pursuing faith is, in essence, a process of increasingly discovering deeper meaning in life, making greater contributions to society, and cultivating a richer, more fulfilling sense of purpose.

"Faith resides in the heart, and strength flows beneath your feet." Why mention faith? Zhang Xiufu cited examples such as the Red Army's 25,000-li Long March and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. He also highlighted how, during the Jinggangshan period, despite enemy military encirclements and economic blockades, Red Army soldiers sang with unwavering spirit: "Red rice, pumpkin soup, and autumn eggplants—so delicious we eat them clean every meal! Dry straw cushions us warmly and goldenly; a silk quilt wraps us snugly against the biting north winds and heavy snow. Comfortable and peaceful, we drift off to sleep." It was precisely their steadfast faith that ensured the "red flag of revolution never fell" at the border region. This vividly demonstrates that unshakable faith not only inspires but also fosters a revolutionary spirit of optimism.

What does faith rely on? Zhang Xiufu believes it depends on three key pillars: First, "forging the soul" through scientific theory—this means thoroughly studying Party history, Party discipline, Marxist philosophy, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Second, "strengthening the foundation" via publicity efforts—this involves being adept at identifying news opportunities within drafted work summaries, situation reports, and leaders' speeches, while also actively "creating" newsworthy stories in your daily work. Finally, "building a strong body" through practical experience—only by consistently translating deep-seated ideals into concrete actions, both internally and externally, can we solidify the towering edifice of our aspirations and firmly root our faith in practice.

Finally, Zhang Xiufu emphasized that lofty faith is closely tied to personal growth—it not only reflects a keen grasp of life’s opportunities but also serves as a wise response to the challenges of the new era, prompting the audience to deeply reflect on their spiritual pursuits and the meaning of life.

Identifying and Controlling Risks Builds a Lifeline of Safety

It’s the 24th National “Safety Production Month,” and national emergency responder Tang Yubing delivered a special knowledge-sharing session titled “Everyone Talks Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond—Identifying Safety Hazards Around Us.”

Tang Yubing began by emphasizing, "While having potential hazards doesn’t necessarily lead to accidents, every accident is rooted in underlying risks. Eliminating these hazards is the key to ensuring both life and property safety." He then highlighted that corporate safety risks primarily stem from three areas: operational vulnerabilities, fire-related human injuries, and insufficient safety awareness. Using video footage and real-life case studies, Tang particularly shared the exemplary story of Principal Ye Zhiping from the Wenchuan earthquake, who proactively prepared for disaster prevention. Through this vivid example, he illustrated practical wisdom in risk identification and protective measures, offering attendees invaluable insights into effective safety management.

Arterial Hemostasis and Dressing Drill

When it comes to building safety awareness, Tang Yubing encourages everyone to reflect by posing three thought-provoking questions: "Whose responsibility is it? Who will take action? And how should it be done?" Meanwhile, in terms of learning emergency preparedness, he sparks discussions on essential life-saving knowledge by asking questions like, "What is the true meaning of rescue? Why wear a reflective vest? And do you know how to prevent drowning?"

Heimlich Maneuver Demonstrated Live

When it comes to mastering emergency skills, Tang Yubing emphasized the importance of acquiring self-rescue abilities for four critical scenarios—sudden death, airway obstruction, fire, and arterial bleeding—by sharing numerous real-life examples. He also provided hands-on instruction on techniques such as arterial tourniquet application, the Heimlich maneuver, CPR, and fire survival strategies, along with proper identification and usage of fire extinguishers. Additionally, focusing on the emergency equipment provided, he analyzed typical accident cases to explain the essential contents and configurations of a well-equipped first-aid kit, helping attendees gain a clearer and more profound understanding of the vital role safety gear plays in ensuring personal protection.

CPR On-Site Training Drill

The grand lecture hall concluded successfully amid enthusiastic applause, leaving attendees with lingering reflections on faith and ongoing discussions about safety—topics that resonate deeply. The former is a philosophical inquiry that challenges the soul, while the latter is an essential life-safety lesson everyone must master. Together, these ideas not only inspired participants on a profound spiritual level but also equipped them with practical, actionable guidance, empowering both their minds and actions in equal measure.
